portable simpletech hard drive broke..

A couple months ago i bought a 120 gb simpletech hard drive- the black small 2.5 inch drive n i normally keep the cord plugged into the drive itself and just unplug the usb side from my computer....well the 1st time i pulled the mini usb cord out from the external the socket inside broke off the external..i have some important data i NEED on there but i dont have the money to go n spend on data recovery...any ideas?

i was able to get the socket back into place without opening the case and but since it is loose i cant plug the cord in all the way so the drive will start up but no computers will recognize it- i tried 4 different computers....HELP!

Re: portable simpletech hard drive broke..

Take out the drive and put it in a different enclosure.
