1TB Western Digital External Hardrive Problem

Ok Heres The Problem:

Ive Had this Hardrive for about a year now, not using it much untill the last few months. Now out of nowhere, it does not start properly anymore.

All it does is some weird beeping noise, the power light turns on in front like it should , the fan doesn't turn on right away (but it stays on after the power is off). Also the usb connection to my Pc doesnt seem to work...my pc has not even the slightest hint of something connecting to it.

the last time it was used was by my sister and her laptop, and she pulled the usb out of the laptop before turning it off or even ejecting it...

and since then it hasn worked on either my pc or her laptop. and no i cannot try to take it apart to connect it to my pc internally seeing as the SATA connections on my motherboard have never worked no matter the drivers i have used for the motherboard iself.

Pls post A.S.A.P. as i do not have the funds to buy a new one at this time and the information on it is quite important.If More Information is Required all the info is not with me ATM and i will only get to it when i move back to my appartment (by the end of the month).

Cheapest solution aside from making your motherboard SATA work?

Pick up a SATA controller and install its drivers. If you are lucky, it's just the enclosure that died. If not... Sorry.
