RAID 1 for gaming?
Ok, so it seems like everywhere, companies are pushing for gamers to use RAID 0. I'd assume this is due to the drastically increased read/write speeds. From what I've read, RAID 1 has the same read speed as RAID 0, but the write speed of a normal hard drive. This sounds like it should be just as fast for gaming, since games should be reading a lot, not writing. As for the loss of HDD space, I'd rather have RAID 1's security while losing half of my total disk space.
So, my question is: Would RAID 1 be just as fast as RAID 0 in terms of gaming performance? |
