IDE or SATA?

Prospective System Config:

GIGABYTE GA-X48T-DQ6
CORE 2 DUO E8500 3.16G (1333Mhz)
CORSAIR 4GB KIT TW3X4G1600C9DHX
DIAMOND Radeon HD 4870 512MB

I want to buy a 500 hard disk, but i hav no clue whether to go for IDE or SATA.

Please explain the difference between the two for a gamer.

What does "bare drive" mean?

Re: IDE or SATA?

Hi

For gamer its always SATA Drive

IF need the Differance
EIDE
1. Transfer Speed id 100 Mbps
2. RPM Is 5200 Constant
3 Its not Hot Swapable
4. Needs to be jumperd for Diff Of Master And Slave
5 Needs a Molex PowerConnector

SATA
1. Transfer Speed Is 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps
2. RPM is from 7200 To 10,000 (Rotations per Minute)
3 They are hot swapable
4. Does not need any Jumper For the Differance
5. This Supplies POwer in the same cable /data

As a Sugggestion For a Gamer You can Go for a Western Digital Raptor Drives
