hard drive

Hi my old hard drive just died, dead as a dodo, i have been told if i buy a new hard drive i could attach it to my comp and transfer the os onto the new drive, i want to know if this is so? considering that the old hd is dead. thanx in advance

Hi,

If the old drive is completely dead you won't be able to transfer anything from it.

You'd have to reinstall Windows on the new HDD - using an installation CD.
