My External 1Tb hardrive won't power up but the fan comes on even the power is off
I got a 1tb external mobile twindrive "Beyond Micro" and the other day someone was pluggin it in and both hardrive lights came on which only one supposed to show. From that day on I never got to access it again and only the fan comes on and not the hardrive or the hardrive lights. I also smelt something burning that day. Is my hardrive gone? hope I did not lose all my Data I invested in. If I try and get another power cable will this help? If the sata hardrive is removed and placed in another case should it work? I just don't want to lose my data.

Welcome to TSF.
 Take the HDD out and mount it in another enclosure or inside a PC. If that doesn't work - please include the HDD make/model in your next post. |
