Hitachi SATA HDD
Just bought a Hitachi Deskstar SATA 500 GB HDD
Model No HDP725050GLA360 which is SATA 3Gb and I want to drop it to SATA 1.5Gb I downloaded the software file Ftool-ver210.exe from the Hitachi site. When I start the computer using the floppy made from this file the bios sees the drive and all others I have but when the Ftool program opens there is only one PSATA drive showing no sign of any other drives at all ![]() Don't know if anyone can help. Motherboard is not SATA 3.0Gb compliant only SATA 1.5Gb |

Re: Hitachi SATA HDD
Welcome to TSF.
![]() Use a jumper to "force" the drive to run in 1.5Gb mode. The Hitachi website is unavailable at the moment, so I can't find the jumper settings for your drive, but there should be instructions printed on the drive. |

Re: Hitachi SATA HDD
In the manual there's a jumper block that can only have one function (AFAIK) - to make the drive run in SATA I mode.
