i have a standard desktop pc with windows vista, and my brother has lent me his hardrive which operates with a usb cable so i can put some of his stuff from the hardrive on to my computer, the hardrive is a hitachi seagate model.
the problem is that when i plug it in correctly i hear the noise which indicates that somethings been plugged in to the computer but nothing comes up, and i cant find it in my computer so i cant access it.. does anyone know what i can do to look at all the files?

Re: Help!!!

Welcome to TSF.

Look in disk management (Right click "My computer" > choose "Manage" > Disk Management).
Can you see the HDD there? If so, what does it say - healthy, RAW etc?

Re: Help!!!

I guess that Disk 3 (not visible in the screenshot) is the one we're talking about.

Re: Help!!!

To be honest, I think you should ask your brother for help.
We'd better not mess too much with his HDD.
