[SOLVED] HD not showing?
Windows refuses to recognize that my 80GB HDD is connected.
When I boot my computer, I get a screen where it scans for IDE Devices. It recognizes the 80GB then, as a slave. Like it should be. It also recognizes the 250GB as the master. Like it should be. So I figured everything was good. I boot up into Windows XP, check "My Computer" and it sees nothing. The 80GB runs off the ribbon cable, and is the only thing connected to it. The 250GB runs off the Sata cable, and is the only thing connected to that. Any ideas on whats wrong? It used to work. Back when the 80GB had a copy of Windows XP on it. But I formatted it and put linux on it. When I was formatting again, I figured I'd wipe it and use it as a storage space. But it works not now. =[ |

Re: HD not showing?
Hey mate,
check in Disk management if it is visible... Maybe it is not partitioned... Report back please... |

Re: HD not showing?
I checked the disk management thing.
That does not see it at all. Only the 250GB. It's not partitioned, I think. Since it's just a completely blank HDD. Well, blank as can-be. I wiped it, and thought thats all I had to do. Should I find my windows disc and use that to format it with like, NTFS Quick? |
