Western Digital Essential

Hi, my Western Digital WDG1U2500 external hard drive is not being recognised by either my desktop or laptop computers. There's nothing in device manager or disk management. No sign of it anywhere. Any ideas?

Welcome to TSF.

Replace the (USB) cable.
Do not use a hub or extension cable.
If you're using surge protection - try connecting the drive's power source directly to the wall.
