how to store the itune library on external hard drive

I have my library on my K:/ drive. here's how:

click edit, preferences, advanced tab. on folder location, click change, and select the new location. Mine is "K:/Music/My Music".

need clarification - are you wanting to create a backup or access the library from an external drive?
