I need help with compatibility

Hi. I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and I'm wondering if the hard drive i want is compatible with my computer.
I think my hard drive interface is DMA/ATA-100 (Ultra) but i'm not sure if it's compatible with the hard drives i want to replace with.

These are the two hard drives i'm leaning towards
One uses SATA interface and the other uses an IDE Ultra ATA 100 interface.

I'm just wondering if these two hard drives are compatible with my computer.
And if not, can someone tell me what i'm supposed to be looking for?

Re: I need help with compatibility

You can go to Dell's website at
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/D...t=1&~ck=anavml

put in your service tag and then look for hard drives. Not to buy from them, unless you want to, but then you can get the descriptions of the drives for your specific machine and you'll know if running SATA or IDE.

open case, and see if you have SATA ports. Newer dells only have 1 IDE for CD use but have 2 SATA ports for HDD use.

For proper support: what are you running? video card, cpu, m/board, ram, power supply, brand, wattage, any error message?
PCI-E requires 26 amps at 12 volts. That's a 650W PSU.
Power Supply Info and Selection . Info on thermal compounds & application . TEST PSU USING MULTI-METER
