Problem while booting

Hi ,

I got my new assembled system few weeks before. Every thing is new except the hdd. It is a seagate hdd , previous to SATA. I have installed Windows XP sp 2 alone in it. Two problems am facing in my new system.

1) whenever i boot my system, its says "Disk Booting Failure, and asking me to put a CD into the disk drive" . My first booting device is Hard disk and not CD drive.

2) when i restart my system immediately, its booting and loading windows. and got hang while loading windows.

when i restart again its booting properly. But there is no guarantee that system will work after 1 hour. It might struct in the middle after working an hour.

What is the problem behind this? would be thankful if someone provides solution

Re: Problem while booting

Go to seagates website and download there diagnostic tools, that
will check your drive.
When you placed the drive in the new machine, did you format and
install xp fresh? If so that is good, but if a old install of xp was left
on there from another machine that may be your problem.
