hi guys this is my first post and im new to this website.

And need help ,using windows me but suddenly it stops operating and at the startup it is unable to detect ,it says not decected and ask for boot disk , I entered boot disk created from other computer from bootdisk.com. in the end it says unable to register drive c: due to virus and also unable to scan drive c .

Please help me regarding this and also tried the cable s also it properly switched in.

And also I don’t have windows me cd so I want to reinstall me from windows/cabs from c : but unable to reach that destination coz its unable to detect what shall I do .

What shall I do?

can you see the drive listed in the bios
if not try a new 80 wire ide cable

its says not installed !

and i tried one damaged hard disk , that disk is detected by this cable ...so i guess cable is fine

check the jumper is correct,they have been known to fall off when they have not been put all the way on

jumper is also in proper condition power is also working fine ..

if you had the op.disk there is more you can try see if one of your friends has one lying around they can give you
boot to a dos prom't from a boot floppy and try
scanreg /restore

what command shall i enter im poor in dos ..
