gaining access to Old Hard Drive by usb
I just purchased a new dell with vista because mt other one crashed. Video board problem.
I took the drive out and hooked it up to my new computers usb using an adapter. my new computer reconized it, reading the root directory right away. When i click on documents and setting to gain access to my name. user, Kevin, to open and view the file it vistia gives me a message "you dont currenly have permission to gain access to this file." What is the issue here? can someone please help me. tks Kevin kmartin@remax.nf.ca |

Hi Kevin,
What this means is that when you set up the user profile on your old PC, you set it up as Private for your docs, etc. You can re-take ownership of those folders and re-gain access.
