How do I make my external as my main drive and have the internal have the OS?
I recently bought a Maxtor 20 gb internal HD (drive C:) and put my OS on it, but i already had an Western Digital 160 gb external (drive F:)
I want all my files to go onto my external and not my internal for obvious memory reasons. Every time i want to install new software i have to create my own file in the external. Last edited by maschill92; 06-18-2008 at 03:23 PM. |

Re: How do I make my external as my main drive and have the internal have the OS?
It is typically not recommended to install programs on any drive other than the one with the OS on it due to registry concerns. Some programs rewrite the OS registry and rebooting the computer without that external connected and identified on boot up could cause the system to crash.
