well even the diagnostic tools are not even picking up the drive. plus my drive managment window now keeps timing out
ive been looking to see if the MB is sata 1 and the drive sata 2, but it seems the board is sata 2 as well as the drive. could it be because i've got 2 HD's and 2 optical drives as well??? do i update the bios from 0703 to 1002??? What brand and model is the Sata hard drive?
Did you run the drive diagnostics by booting them or through windows? Try putting the IDE hard drive on the IDE primary cable and only 1 optical drive on the secondary controller. Boot to windows to see if it works any better. also what are the specs on your power supply? |

Can you burn them to a cd unhook the IDE hard drive and run them?

to be honest im not sure, as i just found a page about the MB bios and it says all the controller options are in a different menu than the one i have been using. so once im home im gonna check. is this the right page to look at???

check it agaist your manual i am not familiar with the award bios everything i have dealt with in the last few years has been ami bios
it may be the problem
