Can I have a "slave computer?"
I have two almost perfectly good systems. Both are PCs running Windows XP. One is a faster and more responsive compter; the other has a ton of hard drive space and a lot more USB ports. Is there a way that I can connect the one with lots of space to act as a slave to the faster unit? Will that slow down the faster computer? Or should I move the larger hard drive into the other computer?

you can move the hard drive over
but if you want to boot from it you will have run a repair install of windows on it
