Cannot Access External Hard Drive

I CAN'T ACCESS MY EXTERNAL SATA HD. IT HAS BEEN WORKING FOR 1 YEAR AND NOW THIS HAPPENS.

WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN MY HD, I GET THIS MESSAGE:

"H: / cannot be accessed
Disk is corrupted and unaccessible"

I did chkdsk, restart my pc, tried to open my HD on linux but to no avail.

I even physically opened my hard drive enclosure to check all connections.

Still nothing can be fixed.

Crazy huh?

Please help me!

Welcome to TSF.

Replace the USB (or Firewire) cable.
Try different ports on the computer.
Do not connect the drive via a hub.

What brand/model is the drive?

Western Digital WD Caviar Se16

I changed ports, but still the same problem.

Please help!

I can't lose data in my HD, it's precious!

Get another USB cable or mount the drive inside a desktop PC.
