Question [SOLVED] Need casing for Toshiba MK2023GAS

Hi.

This is my first eve post here and frankly, I hope it will be the last at least when it comes to a PROBLEM.

Here is my question: I have a Toshiba MK2023GAS hardrive that used to sit in a laptop, actually it was detachable. Now the laptop has died and I need to connect the harddrive to another laptop to get the data, preferable through USB. Is there any casing I can get? Or is it another way to do this?Im not sure if its called casing...maybe housing...?

Thanks s much in advance for any feedback.

R.

Re: Need casing for Toshiba MK2023GAS

Welcome to TSF.

You can use an enclosure - example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817180007

Or an adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812816014

Hi eneles

Amazing, i have tried to get Redsubmarine to help with this for a long time.

The laptop I bought from them, a special music laptop, very expensive, which died after 13 months, guaranty was 12 months...they replied once after 3 months but never any help

Thanks so much, i never thought it could be that easy.

Re: [SOLVED] Need casing for Toshiba MK2023GAS

I'm glad I found this forum thread. My brother's Mitac 8080 laptop with Toshiba MK2023GAS hard drive & pre-installed WinXP Home Edition is no longer working correctly. It keeps showing blue screen error message "STOP 0x000000ED UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" every time the laptop boots up. Tried just about every possible solution to resolve the blue screen problem but to no avail. I may as well take out the hard drive from the laptop and use the solution eneles mentioned to buy that adapter and hook the faulty hard drive onto another laptop and attempt to retrieve whatever personal files my brother has on there.
