EEK! only 2.99g left on 18.5g hard drive

newbie here running windows xp sp2 on an old Dell Dimension 2200. 1.3 Ghz and 512mb ram. have only 2.99g left on the 18.5g hard drive. i've been downloading photos and songs lately and it's been taking up alot of space.

my question: should i get an external hard drive to move all my photos and songs to (never done anything like this before) or is there a better way?

note that i've already removed unnecessary programs/files and I ran a disk clean up and defrag progam.

Thanks!

Re: only 2.99g left on 18.5g hard drive

Welcome to TSF.

See if you can create more free space with CleanUp.

An external drive could be a solution - an extra internal HDD another.

If you choose to install an internal drive - get a HDD smaller than 120 GB, as I'm not sure your computer supports larger HDDs.

There shouldn't be a size limit for external HDDs.
