External Hard Drive Dual casing
Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with setting up a external Drive casing with two drives. We have been using two SATA seagate HD in dual casings but have run into a few failure and I'm concerned about the way they have been set up. the process used so far is as follows. Putting the two 300GB drives into the casing and setting the jumpers to RAID-0 Spanning, then partitioning them in disk utility into two parts and setting them to Mac OS Extended (journaled) we are runnig them soley on macs. I'm thinking there might be a problem in this set up as we have had a few drives go down with only one partition effected. Do we need to set up the RAID options in disk utility or is it best not to partition them? I'm not too technical so I hope I have outlined the problem well enough. Your help is much appreciated Sri |
