OS: Windows XP Pro SP2


Sata HDD Problems

Im using SP2

I got one hdd with my OS and one with just files on both sata, but i cant seem to get the other one working after i formatted it got all my files on its being detected by the pc and its installed just cant access it as a drive






Anyone help out that knows how i can fix this?

Also cant find the xp sp3 download page think its been removed to only via windows update. I got the installer but only on the hdd that i cant access.

Welcome to TSF.

In Disk management >> convert the drive to a Basic Disk.

Yes, you're right - it will erase the data. My bad...
It's the basic >> dynamic conversion that's non-destructive.

Did you try "Import foreign disks"? That should fix it.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 is available via Windows Update.

I can't find that page (with the registry edit).

See if you can mount the drive with FindAndMount.

If that won't work - try Recuva and/or Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier to find your files and move them.
