[SOLVED] Set up a Master and Slave HDs
Hi
I have Windows XP Pro installed and want to add another HD. My current HD is a Western Digital IDE 320gb and the HD I want to add as a slave is a Seagate IDE 320gb. On the WD it notes to have the jumper set at the third set of pins (there are 5) and to set the jumper on the other HD on the fourth set. The problem is there are only 4 sets of pins on the seagate so when I put the jumper on the last set my pc freezes after the Windows splash screen has loaded. Can anyone suggest what I can do Thanks Dax |

Re: Set up a Master and Slave HDs
as you can see here the slave setting is with no jumpers installed
http://www.seagate.com/images/suppor...5_family_1.gif the wd drive needs the jumper in the position master with slave
