Can't see a harddrive

I have Vista installed. I have 3 SATA drives and external and 2 EIDE drives. When I now boot my machine I do not see my G drive which is an EIDE drive. I do however see my H drive which is also an EIDE drive connected to the same controller card. If I however boot up in safe mode I can see and access all my harddrives.. Need help..

what brand are the ides and how are they jumpered
are you using an 80 wire cable on them

The master drive is a Maxtor 6Y250P0 250 ATA/133. The Slave is a WDC WD2500 JB-00GVA0 ATA/100. It is a 80 pin wire. After the computer totally boots up I lose the Maxtor drive. But again if I boot up in safe mode I can see and use the drive.

check the jumpers are correct
try a new cable it may have a broken wire in it
