OS: OS X 10.4.10
|
Computer: dual quad 2.5 GHz G5
System OS: Macintosh OS X 10.4.10 ISSUE: WD MyBook Premium II (1 TB, firewire 800) ACCIDENTALLY REFORMATTED (from RAID 0 to RAID 0) Recovery Note: File names & structures are extremely important! DETAILS: I opened up the WD RAID MANAGER application and clicked on "configure" thinking it would show me some preference dialog... instead it reformatted my 1 TB MyBook so that it appears empty! Is it possible for me to reverse this (AKA retrieve the original disk headers and directory info)?? I've recovered all my data in the past using Data Rescue II but that was when I had a faulty drive or had accidentally trashed a few files. The WD RAID Manager wiped the whole drive in seconds, even renaming it "MyBook" as apposed to the name "1 TB" I had previously given it. It's two volumes to make the one RAID 0 Drive. Does this make recovery more difficult? Data Rescue II has had no luck with a quick scan. I'm now running a thorough scan that looks like it will take days! I'm afraid that if it is fortunate enough to find data that it will be renamed and out of it's original file order! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!! |
