Cannot format my hard disc
hello . i am having a peculiar problem . I am trying to format my hard disc having four partitions -- c,d,e, f with windows XP installed on drive c . I am trying to format using a bootable CD . After prompting the computer to start with cd rom support and after pci bus scan , the option a>/: appears , in front of which if i type h: it says invalid directory , this never used to happen before , then i am trying to format via drive g using cd win_se ,then drives are not getting formatted at all , whats the reason , is it due to virus/spyware or is there a problem with the hard drive itself . ?

Re: Cannot format my hard disc
Welcome to TSF.
![]() Check the cables inside the computer (shut it down first). What kind of HDD are we talking about? SATA or IDE? Try Parted Magic to format the HDD. |
