partitions
I have a Sony computer, sold with partitioned hard drive
The C-drive is 28 GB, the D-drive is 212 GB I am running short of space on the C-drive and cannot move the programmes there I have used cleanup etc How do I increase the size of the C-drive? |

Welcome to TSF.
![]() You cannot resize partitions in Windows XP. Try Parted Magic. It's a (free) live Linux CD. Burn the downloaded file with e.g. Nero and boot the computer with the CD. Use the partition manager on the CD to resize (shrink) the D: drive first - then expand the C: drive. An easier way may be to use CleanUp to get rid of redundant files on the C: drive. |

Thank you. I have used cleanup, which only gives me a small amount of space, got rid of hibernation and reduced the space restore points uses, but all that only netted me about 3 GB.
Not sure I can manage the more drastic solution you mention, but will think about it. Anyway, thank you for your help. |
