Hard drive problems
I have a dell dimension 4600c desktop. I get an error message after initial start-up screen that says SATA primary drive 0 not found. Strike F1 key to continue,F2 to run set-up. When I hit F1 it just repeats the message. On the back I have 3 green lights and D is yellow. Is my hard drive bad or maybe the ribbon cable? I have checked all connections and they are all ok. No apparent bad spots in ribbon cable. What is the max GB hard drive I can put in it. It has a seagate 80gb 7200.7. What is compatable with it? Want as much as I can get if it is bad. Thanks.

Re: Hard drive problems
sata don't use the ribbon cable it's a very thin one about 1/2 inch wide
try a new sata cable, the plugs have been known to come loose you can put any size drive you like in there
