Seeing HHD[MOVED FROM WINDOWS]

Hi All - I have just put a WD 250 Gb HDD in with the SATA cable. I want to run it as a data only drive. I already have a 100Gb for programmes and a 10Gb HDD installed (the 10Gb is coming out), plus a CD RW and DVD RW, a 1.44 floppy and a Radeon 9600 video card. The 100 Gb HDD is master and the 250 has had a jumper just about everywhere, but the drive does not appear. It came with no jumper. In BIOS the system "sees" the drive as an IDE channel 3 master. The 100 Gb is seen as Channel 0 Master, the 10Gb as Channel 0 slave, there is a Channel 1 slave which is not a HDD (it is HL-DT-ST GCE-8320B). Taking out the 10GB HDD doesn't seem to make a difference. How do I get the computer to give me a drive letter on "My Computer" so I can start using it? Thanks.

Thumbs Up Re: Seeing HHD

You need to go to your Computer Management Console, locate the drive, change drive letter and path. Rt Clk on My Computer; Clk on Manage; Locate and Clk (in the Lt Pane window) Disk Management; Look for the HD in question; Rt Clk and choose the CHANGE DRIVE LETTER AND PATH option; asign available Letter.

GOOD LUCK!
