Can't get ip address

Hi
I took out Xp Home and I have installed XP Pro. The problem I have is before I took Xp Home out i was connected to the internet. Now that I have installed Xp Pro i can't even get a TCP/IP address. I try to repair the 1394 Net Adapter and it tells me that it failed to Query TCP/IP settings of the connection . Cannot proceed.

hi,

what network card (NIC) are you using? i assume you have installed the drivers for the NIC.

I'm not sure. What's the best way to find out.

go to Device Manager in Control Panel... you should see some Unknown or ? or ! on the devices there.

also, you can download Everest from my sig below. Run Everest and post the Summary report here so i can help you find out.
