I need Help with my WD40
Hi friends
I have my primary Hard drive failed to response all of a sudden..the Model is: WE4000 40GB. whenever I plugged in,it sounds like "tick tick tick" sounds funny but I cannot make it recognized in the system itself so? I brought it to my hardware technician but he said that the PCB (circuit) has been dead and I can't find it anywhere. Please help me,If there is a way to recover my data from that HDD because I really need that data. any kind of software or anything if anybody knows, please let me know. Any help would be really grateful and appreciated. Thank you Regards |

Re: I need Help with my WD40
Hi shobi Welcome to TSF
I just had two WD400's quit, both on the same day. (backup data so it was not a great loss). When a HDD fails Electronically or mechanical there is not much you can do about it. If the data is extremely important it can be sent back to WD and they can take it a part and install the platers in a new drive and recover the data. This costs BIG bucks. The PCB they are talking about is on the bottom of the drive and is green.

Now you have anymore solution for that? P.S: Thanks man for your response. the drive does not spin while ticking but now there is one more thing happening..the drive is not even take a breath (not ticking anymore)...when I plug in and push the pc on while taking HDD into my hand ..I feel no life in the HDD??? thanks Last edited by shobi; 04-10-2008 at 09:54 AM. |
