one of my hdd not showing up on my computer

hi,
i have tried "TestDisk" and when i get to the hdd am having problem with, pressed enter and it just frozed or stopped wprking

it showing up on device manager but not on disk management

i have a total of 4 Drives in my computer,3 are HDD`s and other DVD-drive.
two are working with DVD drive and it the last drive am havin big issues with
2- ata drives,1- sata drive!
one of the ata is wht am having problem with!!

please help,if you need more details will try and provide them,

Maybe somewhere in system area you have some bad sectors. what is it that you are trying to do? fix the drive or recover data?

want to recove the data,but cant since it not showing up on my computer,even if i search for it,still no show!
either fixing it or recovering data,
i want to it to show on my pc, so inorder to transter the data to another drive and domp the crappy hdd!
plz help me :(

so it shows up in BIOS?
Does it show up as proper model?

yes it does,but take bit longer thna usual to load !

you can try scanning your drive with some data recovery tools available in demo, but it is hard to say that they will be able to see the drive if firmware is faulty.

Where is the OS (XP?) installed?
What brand/model is the "bad" drive?

Hook the bad drive up as the only device on IDE channel 2.
Replace the ribbon cable.
Run diagnostic tools from the HDD manufacturer.

i did managed to get bout 25% data from damaged hdd,
but in windoes installation, it state that the drive is unknown formatte disk and can not be acceable!
i got few of the files am after, the crapy disk is now in the bin,

srry for my bad english!been a long-day!
it all been sorted now,and the problem with hdd, is been damanged badly and un reconnised by window and will not be accepted by windows installation!
but had enough of hdd,so i decided to chuck it away!
and thks for your tips! and helps which i managed to get 25% of the data from the drive ,just before it quited on me!
