Cables and NTLDR Loss
I have been fighting with my WinXP box for a few days now. It will suddly crash and restart without warning. When it restarts, I get the message NTLDR is missing
hit crtl-alt-del to restart. I do that and get the same message. (No surprise there) The bios does not see either both hardrives or one hard drive. It is different each time. I can get the machine to boot into Windows by disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable from the drives. I checked the event log and found an error with disk as the source and said the problem was a failing cable. My question is, could it be this simple?
