Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

Later then...

Also - run TestDisk again:

A. At the first window, select “No Log” and press the <Enter> key.
B. Select which drive to analyse, choose “Proceed” and <Enter>.
C. Select partition type – Intel if it’s a PC then <Enter>.
D. Choose Advanced > press <Enter>.
E. Choose Boot > press <Enter>.

New screen - please post back with a screenshot.

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

OK - At that TestDisk screen - select "Rebuild BS", then finish TD.

Restart the computer.

Post back with a new screenshot (same stage).

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

TD = TestDisk.

What test?

The dates and file names in that screenshot look very wrong.
Are you sure the computer isn't infected with malware?
I think you should run your anti-virus program...

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

I don't want to use TestDisk in a system that might be infected.

Scan all hard drives for virus/spyware. What anti-virus program are you using?

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

Any progress?

Use another USB(2) cable.

Then - TestDisk again:

F. Select "Rebuild BS", press <Enter>.

STOP HERE! Do the file/folder names and dates look "normal" now?

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

That cannot be right...

Try mounting the drive with FindAndMount.

And/or - see if GetDataBack finds your files/folders.

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

Dosent sound very good :)
Ill try both.

Could it be that TestDisk dont support Danish language ? - or something like that ?

And FindAndMount, thats create image then?

Edit: I dont have enough space :/

Re: 750 GB, RAW after reinstall of XP

The language shouldn't create file names like that - and the dates have to be wrong.

You can make an image with F&M - but, use it to have a look at the files (if possible).
