Annoying Boot Problem
hi there,
Im having trouble with my computer booting, the computer loads into the windows xp loading screen fine with no irregular beeps, than about 3-4 seconds into the loading screen a small quiet click comes from the hard drive, the windows loading screen just sits there. and also when I load into safe mode I have no problems getting into windows, there is no "click" from the hard drive? Can anyone help please. regards, Bekkin |

Re: Annoying Boot Problem
Clicking from the hard-drive is not a good thing. You might want to test the hard-drive and see if it is failing or not. I recommend testing the hard-drive with a good program called "powermax".
Back up your files now since you are still able to get into windows. I would also check to see what files are starting up. Click on start then run and then on the run command, type in "msconfig" and then click on the startup tab. Uncheck any programs you do not need running in the background or in startup. |

Re: Annoying Boot Problem
I would suggest that you download the utility from the manufacturer of the hard drive to check it. The company that made the drive normally has the best utilities for that particular drive.
