Fried harddrives
I am having issues with my harddrives getting fried. I have an APC surge arrestor and run EVERYTHING through it, so I am pretty confident it is not due to a surge. None of the other hardware is getting damaged when this occurs, but I have replaced 3 harddrives over the past 2 years.
They spin when powered, but am never able to boot the drive. When I try to use my USB to IDE to check the drive it's as if it's not there. Any ideas? Could it be a bad power supply? |

Re: Fried harddrives
Hi rsandmeyer Welcome to TSF
![]() Your PSU could be the problem. What are the voltages? What is the manufacturer if the drives? Another posability could be Heat. if you have poor air flow around your drives they could be getting to hot.
