SATA and IDE working simultaneously
i have an ide hd set to primary master and a dvd-rom drive set to primary slave. my mobo has 2 SATA port. Whenever i connect a SATA hd to the pc my windows xp os starts up and when it arrives at the windows splash screen it reboots, and this goes on and on, unless you remove the SATA hd. what seems to be happening or problem? thanks...

Re: SATA and IDE working simultaneously
Hi, welcome to TSF.
![]() Install the driver for the motherboard's SATA controller. It can be found on a CD you got with the computer/motherboard. Shut the computer off, connect the SATA drive. |
