Re: jumper settings for harddrive single master

First, I'm assuming that this is a PATA disc and not SATA. If I'm wrong then the answer is you can't set the jumpers for Master. Somewhere on the back of your HDD you should see a diagram that shows the position of the jumpers for Master, Slave or Cable Select. Fit the jumper according to the Master configuration. What sort of cable are you using? If it's a 40 wire then you should change it for an 80 wire. Does it have three plugs on it? If so, the hard drive wants to go on the plug furthest from the motherboard. If you have coloured plugs these will be blue, grey and black. The blue plug goes to the motherboard and the black to your hard drive.

What brand?
What model #?
What format, IDE or SATA?

We can't possibly help you without that info, but if you'll go to the manufacturers web site and look up the drive, you should find out everything you want to know about it.

If SATA, there is NO jumper for drive #.
With SATA drives it only matters what numbered port on the motherboard that you plug the drive into.

Good Luck,
Shadow

Re: jumper settings for harddrive single master

Gamer, what is the brand name of the drive and what type of drive. We need that to give you any details as mentioned by the others.
