Western Digital Installation Question
I have a new 160 GB WD HD. I would like to copy the files from the 40GB to it and eventually make it the main HD. I put the 160 in a "rack" (secondary master) and have started the process to format the new HD. Data Lifeguard is asking me if I want it to be an additional HD or the new boot device and also how I want to partition it. I want to get it ready to be the main HD but I want to copy my original HD onto it before I switch it over. Can someone tell me the best way to proceed so I can move my data over and then put it in the master position? I am afraid I'm going to lose my data an programs and I don't want to start from scratch. Is it ok to tell it that eventually I do want it as the main HD (and still be able to boot from the one that's main now)? Is it best to set a couple of partitions and still be able to move my files and programs over? Is it better to leave it as one partition? It doesn't really give you a lot of information and I do not want to make a mistake! Please help!
