Hi,
I seem to have the same problem when my system crashed and became unbootable. Then, I tried some advises to delete the boot.ini, run bootcfg /rebuild, chkdsk /r/f, fixboot, my pc came back to life. But, my 2 mpeg files saved on the desktop are corrupted, showing 0 byte instead of over 1GB when created. As I could see in your post that you are the expert. May I ask for your instructions on how to recover those files cause they are just so important to me. A reply is very much appreciated! |

Re: recover corrupted files
Have to ask, why not just re-download them?
BY THE WAY: You just found out why I advise anyone who asks NOT to place actual files on your desktop. In your case, downloads. I have a folder on my system C:\Loadzone and all downloads go there. Some download managers create a C:\Download folder by default. The desktop should ONLY have shortcuts
