[SOLVED] Confused about my Hard Drive.....
I recently bought a 160GB SATA....
But when ever I look at My Computer......it shows only 149GB...when I look at Belarc its shows 160...so Im kinda confused which one is credible... Here an image: ![]() From top to bottom (From where I saw the information) Belarc My Computer Device Manager Do you think I have to give back the HDD for a new one? |

The difference is one is measured in decimal and the other binary. Have a look at this site.

No you do not need to replace the drive. It is working correctly. A 160GB drive will only show as 149 GB. That is correct. SInce the manufacture of drives uses decimal bytes and software uses binary.
