Hi there I'm new to this site and in hope of finding help to solving my problem.
I share the computer with my sister, we haven't had internet for a while so I hadn't bothered to scan for a period. So one day I come home and try to play music on iTunes and BAM there's an error of a missing file. I look in the folder where all the music is and everything has dissappeared. 10 gigs has freed up on the partitioned disk and ya, chaos ensues. not to me but my sister. How did this happen and more importantly, can I restore all the files in the folder? Note: Not only in this folder, other minor files are missing in other folders but I haven't completely checked it all out. Also can a virus do this? a recent scan only showed worms, but I'm not too sure. Help PLEASE! and thanks for reading. :]

Re: Missing files in a folder.
Hi, welcome to TSF.
![]() Are the "lost" files on a separate partition (not the XP drive)? See if you can recover the files with these programs: Recuva Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier I don't know how the files got deleted. "MP3-eating" viruses is an urban legend, AFAIK. "Only" worms??? Sure doesn't sound like your computer is clean. I think you should follow these 5 steps: http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html Last edited by Deleted090308; 01-29-2008 at 06:28 AM. |

Re: Missing files in a folder.
Thanks very much I'll be sure to try them both, well I'm not that too technical with computers but they're all under one OS, Drive C and D
