IDE to Sata Adapters?

Well, I got my new computer today. My original plan was to plug in my old IDE drives, but I found out that my new Mobo only has SATA plugs. Is there any adapter I could buy, so I can use my IDE HDDs? I have valuable data on them, for work mostly and I really need them. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: IDE to Sata Adapters?

Hi,

I think a PCI controller card would be the best.
Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16816102027

But there are adapters as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812156010

Or - maybe an external HDD enclosure.

Re: IDE to Sata Adapters?

I had the same idea and bought an 'Ide and Sata converter'.
I haven't been able to get my new E4220 desktop, which has Vista, to recognise my Seagate ST380021A, despite trying different Mobo Sata connections and slave/master settings on HD.
Can anyone help, please?
