standby turning off seagate
I have a dell optiplex 210L. When it goes into standby, it shuts off my new seagate 750 hd, which I am running with a linksys network storage link unit as an ftp server. How can I make it all stay on all the time? I don't care about power consumption (although I turn off the monitor when I'm away). I just need everything on and running all the time, even if I walk off for a few hours. Thanks for all helps!

Re: standby turning off seagate
Hi,
Try this: In Device management > right-click the HDD driver > Properties > Power managemnet > tick "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". Or: Control panel > Power options > Power schemes > "Turn off hard disks" > "Never". Last edited by Deleted090308; 01-25-2008 at 06:02 PM. |
