Happy New Year all, hope you had Merry Christmas's.TIA for any help regarding my EXT HDD (Toshiba 320GB). All of a sudden it is not plug and play. ![]() The blue power light is on but no flickering purple when being accessed. Put the unit to your ear and you can hear it ticking constantly, very feintly. So far I have transposed USB leads, USB ports and hooked it up to different computers all efforts giving the same results .... nada, zip, none, nine, nowt! ![]() My feeling is that it is now FUBAR, however if anyone knows of this problem and how to sort it I would be much appreciated. ![]() Thanks for your time and hear from someone soon. ![]() Laters. |

Re: Toshiba 320GB EXT HDD dead but ticking...
Hey did you ever get your HDD working?
Mine did exactly the same thing, it almost died, had the blue light but would not boot, then a few days later I turned it back on and it came to life, recently had to turn it off again and it refuses to boot up again. I think all of the data is safe but an issue with the power supply. I am thinking about taking the casing apoart and buying a new housing with power supply to try that, although I would like to hear if you fugured another way out. Cheers Rob |
