Installing 2 Hard Drives

Right i was givern a HD and i wanted to install it in my PC with my other one. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to do. If anyone can help me out it would be much apriciatedthe HD i have installed is a samsung and the numbers on it are SV0412H/OMD Label ID: LW70108D
S/N 0575J1BW706253 V60L40

And the one i want to install doesnt have much info on it apart from: samsung 147 K4S1616220-TC70 AND 100143433 C 7223MGU7

I know that that isnt much info but im not to sure about anything else. Are all HD compatiable (im guessing not) i heard something about ATA and SATA or something im guessing they are different types?

set the jumper to slave and connect it to the middle plug on the cable

well i just tried bootng from the HD im trying to install and i kept trying to load windows and then rebooting so im wiping it now as i only want it as a slave drive. How do set the jumper to slave?

look at the diagram on the drive for the jumper settings
you cannot take a hard drive from another computer and just boot into windows from it
you either have to do a clean install or a repair install on it first

well the HD doesnt have any info on it and i cant get into BIOS on my pc either for some reason
