hard drive sata help

hi
i have just plug in a second hard drive. its a ide but with a sata converter plug into it
i have plug it into the 2nd sata socket on the mother board but wen i bott up it just will not show in my computer . do i have to tell the computer its there oir what . also what shoulkd the jumper settings be on th ide

yes it is the same thred but i now got a ide/sata converter
it is plug into sata 2 and no it dont show in drive/disk management and i cant see it in bios under sata 2
any idear.

have you set it to be seen as ide in the bios

only sata and cd/dvd for drives
how should i set the jumpers be set on the hard drive

if no instruction sheet came with the converter i would assume it would be set to master

tryed setting as master still dose not show
