[SOLVED] Slave HDD problem...
Hope someone can help. I had a HDD failure (corrupt boot sector) so I bought and installed a new HDD. I loaded winxp fully and then connected my corrupted HDD and rebooted. XP found it and installed it fine. When I try to explore it xp asks me to format the drive. i dont want to do this because there are a ton of files im trying to recover. Am I doing something wrong? Help me please!!!

Re: Slave HDD problem...
Hi, welcome to TSF.
![]() Did you fix the boot sector? If so - try this: http://www.techsupportforum.com/hard...-computer.html If not - please follow these steps: A. At the first window, select “No Log” and press the <Enter> key. B. Select which drive to analyse, choose “Proceed” and <Enter>. C. Select partition type – Intel if it’s a PC then <Enter>. D. Choose Advanced > press <Enter>. E. Choose Boot > press <Enter>. New screen - please post back with a screenshot. |

Im sooo happy its unreal but thanks again for the help! You can mark this baby as fixed.
