Re: Error Message:Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your system

Hi Nick,
Is the harddrive the only device hooked up to the "primary" IDE cable?
The reason I am asking is in your post #12 it says the CD-Rom is the Primary master. Besure the hardrive is hooked up to the primary IDE cable and set to master.
This primary IDE cable is the one on the lower end of the MoBo.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Error Message:Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your system

The CD-Drive is connected to the blue ide slot, its located in the middle right of the mobo. I have the HDD connected alone on a red ide slot on the bottom right of the mobo.

is that right?

i have changed it around but it comes up with an error.

Hi Nick,
Is there a IDE slot above these. It is located about middle right of the Mobo.
Can you tell me the make and model of the Harddrive.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Error Message:Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your system

wait a sec, the blue slot is for the primary hard drive pinned as master, using the end of the cable, the rom can go on the middle connection of the chain, but pinned as slave.

Re: Error Message:Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your system

Hi Nick,
The primary IDE is the one above these (Blue slot, I think). It is located middle right side of the board running vertically not horizontally. It is near your SATA connections. The cable connectors should be Blue-MoBo, Gray- Slave Drive, Black- Master HD. The red connectors are for your Cd-Rom(Use the lower red connector).Sorry for the confusion. The manual is not printed in color.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Error Message:Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your system

Hi Nick,
The Blue slot is for the Harddrive (Primary, Harddrive set as master). You should hook up the CD-Rom to the lower Red Ide slot on the motherboard.
I would also go back into your Bios and set it to the default settings located in the exit menu.
Let us know how you make out.
Thanks,
Bill
